SEE Research Center

SEE International Research Center seeks to advance sustainable practices through research initiatives conducted in collaboration with industry, governments and academia. The mission of the research centre is to advance the research agenda and educational objectives of the SEE Institute by conducting, encouraging and supporting research projects focusing on all three pillars of sustainability, with emphasis on sustainability in the built environment.

SEE Institute Research Center seeks to advance sustainable practices through research initiatives conducted in collaboration with industry, governments, and academia. Our emphasis is upon projects that focus on the three pillars of sustainability, sustainability in the built environment, sustainability leadership, conscious consumerism, and net zero initiatives.

The Research Center facilitates transforming our world to meet the Net Zero targets and assists in reaching the goals of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030. It is a destination for developing innovative technologies and practices that could have a profound impact on our future.

Sustainable Built Environment

Conducting research on multi-dimensional sustainable built environment topics such as materials used in building design, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, community cohesion, and urban planning since it is important to consider impactful and long-term value creation of built environment investments.

Climate Action

Providing impactful, affordable, and scalable solutions to mitigate the risks of climate adversities. UN SDG 13 demands urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Sustainability Leadership

Intend to be the market leader in implementing sustainable solutions and aim to address social, environmental, and economic issues to create a better world.

Net-Zero Targets

Committed to neutralizing carbon emissions in all our initiatives and support the UAE vision of building a knowledge-based economy, this is done by adopting and communicating the principles of a green and circular economy, protecting the environment, and investing in impactful solutions.

Conscious Consumerism

We are devoted to studying sustainable consumer behavior in terms of buying and consumption patterns, citizen travel choices both inside and outside the community, more importantly engaging citizens to become active prosumers.

Make a difference with your

Thesis Projects

We welcome capstone projects and a thesis on sustainability in built environment areas. If you believe your thesis has the capacity to solve a sustainability challenge, then submit an extended abstract of 1000 words. SEE Institute will support you by facilitating surveys, observations, conducting interviews and accessing The Sustainable City.

By using its unique location - The Sustainable City Dubai a living lab, SEE Institute Research Center supports innovation through testing prototypes, conducting data collection and analysis, assisting in validating complex solutions in a real-life context. SEE Institute currently manages several, ongoing pilot projects and a range of cutting-edge research programs which focus on sustainability and the built environment.
